SIGUE SIGUE SPUTNIK certainly divide opinion. Some people think them vulgar and crass. Others think them crass and vulgar. But HEYBUDAPEST! adore them. The music (well...kinda) , the visuals (well...sorta), the marketing (definitely). As for running adverts inbetween the debut album tracks... FRICKIN' GENIUS!
In the spirt of the Sputnik boys, HEYBUDAPEST! put almost as much effort into the artwork used to promote the band as the chaotic music itself. In opening the forthcoming COVtember 2026 three-day festival at THE TIN MUSIC AND ARTS in Coventry, there has been opportunity to crank out some pretty freaky gig posters. FIVE WEEKS TO DOOMSDAY, HEADING FAST
CAN'T GET NO SLEEP AS THE TICKING TICKS ON
Heads up, no prizes there! HEYBUDAPEST sure can dig POP WILL EAT ITSELF. Missed seeing them at their prime but the Stourbridge boys still make one hell of a noise. The Cheese & Grain show in Somerset this May was totally wild. Now, no way could HEYBUDAPEST! hope to emulate such an epic performance (yet) but the next opportunity to try will present itself in the middle of September at the wonderful TIN MUSIC AND ARTS.
HEYBUDAPEST! will open the three-day COVtember 2026 Charity Festival there on Friday 18 September 2026. Headlining that night will be hardcore maestros GRAIL GUARD. Taking the honours on Saturday will be PETE FIJ with CONCRETE FUNHOUSE headlining on Sunday. The event has been fund-raining since 2018 and offers the chance to showcase local talent alongside its noble charity intentions.

Try working for a German company and NOT picking up ein bisschen Deutsch. Okay, maybe not everyone who does contemplates singing in German but what the freakin' hell! The language itself is full of crazy nuances. The German word for girl [Mädchen] is neuter in gender. A Soda Brücke is a so-there bridge. Literally, a bridge that leads to nowhere. It is just there. With no connecting autobahn or highway. Built in advance of a road that never got built. And left abandoned. Alone.

So no point adding any lyrics to the belated June single release, right? Don't worry, the HERE KITTY KITTY remix is already in development and it will feature the usual HEYBUDAPEST! vocal stylings as the track deals with the pain around missing a sibling. Yeah. Seriously, Ridley Scott's ALIEN masterpiece acts as the stimulus for some heartfelt bitching about displaced brothers and sisters who hardly ever see each other and therefore rarely talk complete bollocks about sci-fi movies.

Every month since January, HEYBUDAPEST! have released a new single. This will continue throughout the year until December when the album SINGLE CHROMOSOME will hit the Christmas market featuring all twelve tracks [along with a shitload of remixes and re-remixes]. This month's version of FRANKENSTEIN FOR LIFE is far from being the definitive offering. But from acorns, mighty oaks grow.

From witnessing that first UK apperance at the legendary HAÇIENDA in the chaotic pre-Gunchester days through all the obsessive re-inventions, Madge has known how to hold an audience. The highlights have been very high. But Maradonna Louise Ciccone's appearance in DESPERATELY SEEKING SUSAN certainly scores way up in the achievement tree. Plus, my sister loves that movie.
So we just HAD to respect the food chain, baby and produce a remix celebtrating her crazy journey from Bay City, Michigan.

So HEYBUDAPEST! dropped BOXING JELLYFISH on all streaming services today, a three-track EP influenced by the stranger aspects of the awe-inspiring waters all around this island of ours. Please check it out but NOT IF YOU ARE OF A NERVOUS DISPOSITION. It's very fucking sweary. That aside, the release is significant to us in a number of ways. We are of sea-faring stock. And you can't beat a cracking Fish Supper. But it also incorporates the TWENTY-FIRST track that HEYBUDAPEST! have cranked out since Halloween 2025.
Pretty awesome strike-rate, huh? Never mind the quality, feel the width.

FELIX CINCO DE MAYO
SOUTH OF THE BORDER OR HEADING INTO ORBIT?
This 5th of May, choose the way you would like to celebrate how General Ignacio Zaragoza led the Mexican Army to victory over their superior French adversaries. TIJUANA BRASSNECKING first appeared on the HECHO EN MÉXICO - MIX PARA BAILAR EP last New Year's Eve as an instrumental dance mix. The beats are still there but lyrics regarding separation from a sibling have been added. The track will see at least two more future iterations as the perfect blend is strived for.
After that, dive into the short story CINCO DE MAYO IN ORBIT for a fast-paced blast into outer space as a Mexican hero seeks to repel alien invaders. It features what HEYBUDAPEST! consider to be the greatest opening line in modern literature. We may be slightly biased, of course.

And Cold War nostalgia. And Yuri Gagarin. Hence, 108 MINUTES... a euphoric, driving celebration of this monumentous achievement. This fourth instalment in the SINGLE CHROMOSOME one-single-per-month project is available now on all streaming services. Oh, and Yuri definitely was not vodka-drunk the entire time but he did sing songs of the glorious revolution whilst circling the earth.
